The audioconference will include a brief overview of the program by OJJDP program staff and will feature presentations by the national evaluation team of phase one of the Safe Start initiative describing lessons learned in the ongoing evaluation of that initiative. Audioconferences covering the same material will also be held on the following dates:
To facilitate discussion, applicants are encouraged to have a copies of the Safe Start Promising Approaches for Children Exposed to Violence program announcement and frequently asked questions to refer to during the audioconference. Web-based slides to accompany some of the presentations may also be available. (If available, the URL for those slides will be posted in this space by C.O.B. Monday, August 16.)
Callers will be able to submit questions for the presenters (see below). The questions will be screened by OJJDP staff, and as many relevant questions as possible will be answered during the audioconference. Because of time constraints, questions that are answered in the Safe Start Promising Approaches for Children Exposed to Violence program announcement or frequently asked questions will not be addressed during the audioconference. Questions or requests for clarification regarding information in the program announcement or frequently asked questions should be directed to the Safe Start program team at 202–307–1341.

To Submit a Question: Questions may be submitted to voutlaw@aspensys.com prior to the call. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask questions during the call.
