The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is seeking qualified consultants to serve as peer reviewers for its FY 2009 discretionary grant applications.
The peer review process provides an objective, independent assessment of applications through reviewers with subject matter expertise, who evaluate their strengths and weaknesses.
OJJDP invites researchers and practitioners with expertise in juvenile justice to apply to serve as peer reviewers. Expertise in the following areas would be particularly helpful and should be noted, when applying:
- mentoring
- addressing commercial sexual exploitation of children
- developing/implementing community collaboratives/partnerships
- juvenile detention/reentry involving tribal youth
- knowledge/experience working with tribal youth/families/communities
- law enforcement with experience in investigating crimes against children
- youth and adult employment development/training.
To apply, attach an up-to-date resume or curriculum vitae to an e-mail addressed to OJJDP.discretionary@usdoj.gov with “Peer Reviewer Candidate” in the subject line. Be sure to note your areas of expertise in the message body and to provide complete contact information, including your e-mail address. Prospective peer reviewers will be contacted by OJJDP’s peer review contractor.
The application deadline is May 4, 2009.
