Overcoming Barriers to School Reentry
(FS 200403) September 2004
Fact Sheet, 2 page(s)
Roy-Stevens, C.

Describes a model for overcoming barriers to school reentry developed by the Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES) in New York City. For youth leaving custody, a return to school is integral to successful reentry into the community. This Fact Sheet details how three CASES programs—the Committee on Court-Involved Students, the School Connection Center, and the Community Prep High School—are helping court-involved youth continue their education and reenter their communities.
